An endowment is a permanent fund you can create with lifetime or deferred gifts to provide a steady source of financial support to CJP and the community you care about. If you're considering an endowment, one of your decisions will be how you want your gift to be used.
As we've gotten older, we were thinking more about our legacy and what we wanted to leave for our children, grandchildren, and the generations beyond. The Jewish community in Boston has been there for us, and we want to make sure it's an integral part of the lives of future generations.

Unrestricted Endowment
A gift to CJP's Unrestricted Endowment will support the full spectrum of initiatives and programs essential to the future of our Jewish community.
Perpetual Annual Campaign Endowment (PACE)
Create an endowment to continue your annual support for generations to come. This is a wonderful way to sustain your lifelong investment in our community.
Designated Endowment
CJP will work with you to craft a gift that will support an area of particular interest to you or organizations whose work you value.

How an endowment gift works
- You make an initial gift to fund an endowment or establish a bequest to fund an endowment at your death.
- CJP invests endowment assets prudently and carefully for long-term total return.
- The income is distributed annually to achieve your desired impact.
- You can make additions during your lifetime or supplement your endowment with your estate plan.
Income distributed from your endowment
At the time you create your endowment, you sign an endowment agreement that details the scope and desired impact of your endowment fund. All endowment assets at CJP are invested to maximize long term returns while minimizing volatility. Each year, a set percentage of your endowed funds will be distributed based on CJP's Endowment Spend Policy and according to the stated purpose in your endowment agreement.
